Could it be? The National Weather Service’s forecast for Friday started with very familiar words, like “fog,” “showers,” and “Thunderstorms.” But then a new pair of words appeared. “Mostly sunny.” Yes, the NWS says it will be mostly sunny this afternoon, ending a solid week of gloom. Huzzah!

Dedication to a public servant If you get a chance at 10 a.m. tomorrow, head over to the Mountain Avenue Bridge over the T tracks. The bridge will be dedicated in memory of the late Joseph E. Croken, who served as a clerk magistrate at the Malden Court.

Acting! Do you have a little Dakota Fanning in your house? Take her to the library at 4 p.m. for Creative Drama, where she can learn theater games and other activities.
