MANSFIELD, MA — The Mansfield Community changed forever four years ago when Shane Farrell, 13, was killed when he was hit by a school bus while riding his bicycle. And since then, the community, along with some help from the American Red Cross, are making sure Farrell is never forgotten.

The Red Cross is holding it's fifth annual blood drive in Farrell's honor. From 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, July 3, anyone who wants to give blood can make their way over to the Mansfield Holiday Inn, located at 31 Hampshire St.

"Shane would be 16 this year," the event organizers wrote on their Facebook event page. "Any of his friends who are the same age can donate. As long as you meet the criteria, you have a picture ID and parental consent form which can be obtained at the time of donation."
