Bristol County Sheriff: Sanctuary City Leaders Should be Arrested
The remarks came during his testimony in front of the house judiciary subcommittee on immigration and border security.

WASHINGTON, DC — Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson said Tuesday that the leaders of sanctuary cities should be subjected to federal arrests warrants if they don't cooperate with federal immigration officials.
The comments came during his closing remarks of testimony in front of the house judiciary subcommittee on immigration and border security. He called the sanctuary cities, at best, a violation of trust between residents and officials and, at worst, careless, illegal, and extremely dangerous.
"If these sanctuary cities are going to harbor and conceal criminal illegal aliens from ICE, which is in direct violation of title 8 of the US Code, federal arrest warrants should be issued for their elected officials," Hodgson said.

The Bristol County sheriff is no stranger to controversy. In January, Hodgson offered up prison inmates to help build Donald Trump's wall on the Mexican boarder.
In a response on Facebook, Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtaton said, "I'll say the same thing about Sheriff Hodgson's ridiculous statements as I did about Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal when he said the same thing - come and get me."

Hodgson is scheduled to meet with US Attorney General Jeff Sessions Wednesday, according to WHDH. The country's top prosecutor spent Monday urging towns, cities and states to end the policies that undercut federal laws regarding immigrants or risk losing federal funds.
