Driver in Fatal Four-Car Crash Faces Manslaughter Charge

A driver from Lynn stands accused of driving over 100 mph on Route 95 near the Mansfield-North Attleboro town line last month and causing a crash that took the life of a person.

Arman M. Chaudhary, 26, of Lynn, pleaded innocent to manslaughter in Attleboro District Court Tuesday according to the Sun Chronicle. Prosecutors say that Chaudhary was traveling around 113 mph when he lost control of the BMW he was driving and swerved off the highway.

In September, state police responded to a four-car crash near exit 5 on Route 95 North. According to a preliminary investigation, Chaudhary was driving a BMW lost control of his vehicle and hit a Ford. The collision caused the Ford vehicle to roll over into the median while the BMW became disabled in the travel lane and was struck by a Lexus driven by a 25-year-old from Dorchester which was hit by an Audi S5 operated by a 32-year-old male from Revere.

One occupant in each vehicle was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. A 65-year-old female passenger in the Ford was pronounced dead at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

Chaudhary is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on Nov. 23.
