Mansfield Man Who Threaten to Kill President Obama Free on Bail

Andrew J. O'Keefe, 28, is free on bail and a few conditions.

A Mansfield man charged with threatening President Barack Obama is free on $25,000 bail and a few conditions.

Andrew J. O’Keefe, 28, must seek a mental health evaluation, cannot use drugs, alcohol, obtain weapons, or use a computer according to the Sun Chronicle. He also must live with his parents in North Attleboro.

In May, O’Keefe, allegedly posted a threat on an FBI website stating his intent to kill the president and also asked for U.S. Secret Service agents to be sent to his apartment because he could, “use the company.”

Two days later, FBI investigators appeared at O’Keefe’s Mansfield apartment in an attempt to interview him. O’Keefe refused to talk to the officers before coming out of his apartment 90 minutes later.

A search warrant executed on his residence and vehicle resulted in the seizure of over 100 weapons including swords, double-edged knives, hatchets, spears, an air gun, and two laptop computers. He was charged in Attleboro District Court on two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon before he was charged in U.S. District Court in Boston.
