Mansfield Students Planting 300 Trees In Yards Throughout Town
The students estimated planting 220 trees would replenish the paper resources the school used, but will now leave the environment stronger.
MANSFIELD, MA — A group of Mansfield High School students plan to plant over 300 trees in resident's yards over the weekend as a way to help the environment. The Mansfield High School Environmental Club has partnered with the national group, Tree-Plenish to help restore every tree the school has used in paper and then some.
"Mansfield High School, like all schools, uses a lot of paper," the student group said in a statement. "As students who care about the environment and our future, we want to ensure that we do not deplete our natural resources."
After doing some calculations, the students estimated planting 220 trees would replenish the paper resources the school used during the 2018-2019 school year. But after a great community response, the students are going to leave the environment in better shape than they found it by planting 300 trees, the Sun Chronicle reported.
