Beat the Blues in the Marblehead School of Ballet's New Partner Dance Series

Are you singing the winter blues? Jazz up your fitness routine and have fun in the Marblehead School of Ballet's partner dance classes.

Beat the winter blues, get fit, and have fun in the Marblehead School of Ballet’s new ballroom, salsa, and partner dance class series. With a motto of quality education, individual attention and working with people to reach their goals, dancers of all ages and levels will enjoy the new dancing ballroom, fox trot, swing, Latin, Argentine Tango and salsa series at this dance oasis on the North Shore.

“Ballroom, salsa, or partner dancing is a fun way to stay fit. During the winter months, the cold temperatures in the Marblehead region can be especially hard on joints and muscles. Ballroom and partner dancing can improve joint and muscle health, while burning calories,” said Paula K. Shiff, Director, Marblehead School of Ballet.

People who are preparing for special events such as proms and weddings find participating in ballroom and partner classes are beneficial. “Throughout the year, we work with couples planning to dance at their weddings or the bride and groom’s parents want to learn ballroom or partner dances. In our classes, they learn the dances, the technique, and develop their self-confidence. Private lessons are also available for dancers seeking additional instruction,” explained Shiff, recipient of Salem State University’s 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts.
