Bomb Threat at Marblehead High School

Marblehead was one of 32 Massachusetts schools that received a bomb threat Thursday, authorities said.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead High School received a bomb threat Thursday morning, police said.

The school was evacuated; police conducted a search and found nothing suspicious. Students and staff were then allowed back in.

Police said the threat was made in a taped message received through the school's voicemail.

"Emergency personnel as well as school department personnel walked the building both internally and externally and deemed the threat to be not credible," police said in a statement.

It was one of 32 bomb threats at schools across Massachusetts Thursday, according to State Police. The threats were reported in the following communities, among others:

None of the threats were deemed credible. State Police declined to list every school for "tactical reasons."

"The investigation into the spate of school bomb threats is being led by the FBI with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police and the Office of the State Fire Marshal," police said in a statement. "We believe the robo-call threats are delivered to targeted destinations through an online network or networks via numerous routers."
