Kids will explore how electricity flows by building simple circuits with Snap Circuits. By connecting LEDs, light bulbs, wires, and switches, participants will experiment with series and parallel circuits to see how different setups affect brightness and performance. The Snap Circuits sets are used during the program so participants can see why lights turn on or off based on their setup, not just the switches.

Space is limited to 10 participants ages 8-12, and online registration is required. This program is led by Dan Saulnier, Technical Resource Specialist at the library.

In honor of the&nbsp;50th anniversary&nbsp;of the release of&nbsp;The Song Remains the Same, internationally acclaimed&nbsp;Lez Zeppelin&nbsp;-- the all-female quartet known for delivering the most powerful and authentic Led Zeppelin experience and the only band personally endorsed by Jimmy Page, himself, announces a special concert series celebrating the iconic 1976 film and its legendary soundtrack.
Accompanied by a multimedia presentation inspired by the original movie,&nbsp;Lez Zeppelin&nbsp;will perform the soundtrack from&nbsp;The Song Remains the Same&nbsp;in its entirety. Harnessing the energy, virtuosity, and grandeur of Led Zeppelin’s storied 1973 performances at Madison Square Garden, this tribute is more than a concert -- it’s a resurrection of rock history, reimagined and re-ignited for a new generation.

Lez Zeppelin is a phenomenon. Since their formation in 2004, the group has stunned audiences all over the world with the musicianship, passion and gender-bending audacity they bring to the music of Led Zeppelin. Unlike&nbsp;&nbsp;the typical “tribute band”&nbsp;Lez&nbsp;Zeppelin does not seek to imitate. Rather, they are a&nbsp;she-incarnation&nbsp;of the original. With swagger, intensity and virtuosity, these four women cover the entire canon, performing hits, deep tracks, epic compositions and acoustic numbers with utmost authenticity, as if they’d written the music themselves. Teens ages 13-19 will explore how rotating gears, ratios, and repeating motion can generate intricate geometric artwork using Spirograph drawing tools. Participants can experiment with layered designs and adjust digital inputs to see how mathematical relationships affect the resulting patterns. Alongside physical drawing tools, participants can use interactive software to compare hand-drawn and computer-generated designs and follow a pattern’s transition from paper, to digital design, to fabrication on the library’s 3D printer and laser cutter. The materials are used during the program so participants can create satisfying designs at their own pace, whether casually experimenting or refining more complex compositions.

Join fellow ocean lovers on World Ocean Day, Monday, June 8, with a benefit reception and screening of the acclaimed One Ocean Film Tour at Warwick Place Theatre in Marblehead, from 5:30pm-7:30pm. The evening includes a reception hosted by The Beacon, a silent auction and a compilation of captivating short films with a total runtime of 60 minutes. 

100% of event proceeds will directly benefit a local shellfish initiative to assess shellfish viability and gather water quality data as part of a long-term strategy to restore shellfish populations in Marblehead and Salem Harbors.

The One Ocean Film Tour showcases inspiring stories of adventure, marine conservation, and human connection to the sea. This year's selection of short films will feature spectacular images of humpback whales in Maui, ocean sailing adventures and a celebration of extraordinary individuals who have dedicated their lives to protecting our oceans.

One Ocean Film Tour Benefit - Film Screening and Reception

Join us on Monday, June 8 from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. for a public reception for the exhibit, "In the Garden: Photographs from Sissinghurst and Great Dixter" by Gail Giarrusso, which will be on view from Monday, June 1 - Friday, July 31, 2026.

These large color photographs are from visits to Great Dixter and Sissinghurst gardens in East Sussex, England, in late Spring 2023 and Fall 2025. The images were made using vintage medium-format film cameras. Shot on rich Portra film with a shallow depth-of-field and the absence of sky, they give the viewer the feeling of being in among the lush flora.
