Casa Corona Opening Next Week

The Board of Selectmen awarded Casa Corona a common victualler's license Wednesday night.

The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved awarding a common victualler's license to the two owners of at Wednesday night.

A representative for brother co-owners Felix and Jose Bracamontes told board members the pair expect to open the 80-seat authentic Mexican restaurant early next week, granted upcoming visits from the Fire Marshall and Building Inspector go according to plan.

The Bracamontes brothers are originally from Jalisco, Mexico, which their representative and translator told board members is "where tequila and mariachi come from."

Jose Bracamontes said he has 17 years in the food service industry and spent five years working as a chef at in Melrose.

The restaurant will be opening in the space next to , which was formerly occupied by and will offer "everything you'd see on a typical authentic Mexican menu," Felix Bracamontes said.

The recently-finalized menu has been posted in the restaurant's front window.

The restaurant's hours of operation will be Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
