Longtime Marblehead Police Officer Retires

MARBLEHEAD, MA - It was the end of an era for the Marblehead Police Department on Thursday.

Longtime patrolman Arthur Buckley retired from the police service after more than 42 years in uniform. His co-workers on the Marblehead Police Department suspect that in addition to enjoying time with family, Buckley will be trading in his handcuffs and sidearm for golf clubs and will be in pursuit of golf balls around the course rather than criminals around town.

Buckley worked the bulk of his career on the evening division patrolling uptown Marblehead. He was also a longtime police union executive board member.
