Marblehead Firefighters Prevent Explosion at Hazmat Scene: ICYMI

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead firefighters prevented an explosion at a hazmat scene near the Marblehead Public Library Wednesday.

A commercial truck with insulation and a fueled generator inside caught fire on Bubier Road around noon, Marblehead police said in a statement.

"There was a concern for a possible explosion," police said. "Thankfully because of the work of the fire department, that did not happen."

No one was hurt and there was no property damage.

The cause of the fire was immediately unclear.
