Nahant Garden Club Plant Sale - May 22

Help support the ecosystem and your garden by purchasing native and pollinator plants at the Nahant Life Saving Station on May 22!

Globally, greater than 1,000 plants require pollination to produce food, beverages, fibers, spices and medicine.  Seventy-five percent of flowering plants need pollinators.  One-third of our food comes from these flowering plants.  Pollinators support biodiversity and a healthy environment, but they are in decline due to habitat loss, pesticides, disease and climate change.

Natives thrive because they "belong."  They are not dependent on pesticides and fertilizers due to their adaptability in their native habitat.  These plants require less lawn maintenance and less water.  Natives are economical and require less human intervention...resulting in less work for the gardener!

Join the Nahant Garden Club at the Life Saving Station on Nahant Road on Sunday, May 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to purchase natives and pollinators.  The sale will feature 481 plants in 1, 2 and 3 gallon containers and 3" pots, representing 34 plant species, 6 shrub species and 1 grass.  There will also be a boutique.
