North Shore Heroin Ring: 6 Indicted

A North Shore heroin ring was busted, according to the state Attorney General. Six people were indicted.

A North Shore heroin distribution ring was busted and six people were indicted for allegedly running the operation, the state Attorney General announced Tuesday.

"These defendants were running a heroin and fentanyl distribution network that was putting these deadly drugs on the streets of the North Shore," Maura Healey said in a statement.

  • Richard Castillo, 30, of Danvers
  • Ilona Castillo, 27, of Danvers
  • John Eaton, 30, of Ipswich
  • Samatha Pike, 26, of Ipswich
  • Brett Eglin, 26, of Ipswich
  • Gary Collum, 50, of Ipswich

The Castillos allegedly managed the ring while the other four distributed the drugs, Healey said.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force helped local police with the investigation.
