Police: Careful What You Snapchat; Weird Van

Excerpts from the Marblehead Police Department log.

Monday, Dec. 21

At 9:55 a.m., a caller reported that a tent was set up in Wyman Woods. The DPW removed the tent and other items. The owner of the tent called the police and stated he was going to get a car to collect his things and when he returned, his tent was gone.

At 11:16 a.m., there was a tree in the road on Leggs Hill Road.

At 12:09 p.m., a Cornell Road homeowner called from Florida and said she believed that there were students partying in her house. She said her neighbor was supposed to take car of the pets and sleep over, but she said she had seen very recent Snapchat photos showing kids in the house. She said she would like the police to check the house to make sure no one was there.

At 5:54 p.m., a package was reported stolen on Lime Street.

At 7:08 p.m., a caller on Morgan Lane said she saw a weird-looking van going up and down the street and that it paused for a minute outside her house while her daughter was outside. She said the van headed in the direction of Bennett Street.

At 11:08 p.m., there was a report of a strange odor coming from the second floor of a house on Hillside Avenue. National Grid was notified.

Tuesday, Dec. 22

At 3:17 a.m., a man said he hit a boulder with his car on Harbor Avenue and that it looked like the boulder had been intentionally placed in the road.
