Police: Leafy Situation; Smashing Pumpkins

Excerpts from the Marblehead Police Department log.

Friday, Nov. 6

At 9:23 a.m., there were several reports near Marblehead High School of a man walking around wearing camouflage and carrying a large bag. It was determined to be a student wearing a tactical vest similar to those worn by police and military. He was advised to take off the vest and not wear it again.

At 2:36 p.m., there was a minor motor vehicle accident at Leo Road and Humphrey Street.

At 2:38 p.m., there was a report of a large fight on South Street. Police spoke with one of the suspects, and the school principal handled the situation.

At 4:08 p.m., there was a motor vehicle accident on Lafayette Street.

At 9:45 p.m., a Sewall Street resident reported that there were six youths on her property smashing pumpkins. She said that she had the incident on video and that one youth was wearing a ghost costume and another one had a megaphone and was claiming to be with the police.

Saturday, Nov. 7

At 9:28 a.m., a Pleasant Street resident reported that someone had delivered a dumpster and damaged his lawn.

At 11:02 a.m., there was a motor vehicle accident on West Shore Drive.

At 3:47 p.m., a caller on Green Street said there were kids raking leaves at a nearby yard and that they were raking the leaves onto school property. The caller said what will happen is that the leaves will blow into her yard and that her landscaper will have to haul them away to the dump, like the kids should have done.
