Police: Santa Stealing Gas?; OUI Arrest

Friday, Dec. 25

At 11:18 a.m., there was a report of a car alarm that had been going off all night on Royden Road.

At 12:37 p.m., a pothole damaged a car tire at Evans Road and West Shore Drive.

At 2:01 p.m., police arrested Robert L. Nicholas, 64, of 16 Crowninshield Street, #310 in Peabody and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (car keys), disorderly conduct, operating a motor vehicle so as to endanger, and assault and battery.

At 10:11 p.m., there was a transformer dangling with wires down on Ocean Avenue.

Saturday, Dec. 26

At 10:12 a.m., a person came into the police station requesting a wellbeing check on an employee. She had called in a few days previously and said she was going to the hospital, but had not answered any texts or phone calls. He was not sure if it was a true medical emergency or her way of calling in sick.

At 5:38 p.m., there were several calls about loud yelling and screaming on Heritage Way. It turned out to be children yelling and excited about a movie.

At 8:29 p.m., a caller on Hereford Road said she got a call from some kids who said someone was siphoning gas from her truck. When she went outside, there was a giant inflatable Santa Claus near her truck. The caller just wanted to tell someone and have the incident logged.

At 8:49 p.m., police arrested Dawn M. Wilkins, 41, of 194 West Shore Drive in Marblehead and charged her with operating under the influence of liquor and the negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
