SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CHILDREN - SPRINGFIELD RECEIVES DONATION THROUGH THE KENNEK FOUNDATION

50 Trouble The Dog Plush Dogs Bring Comfort to Children Receiving Medical Treatment

The Kennek Foundation, (thekennekfoundation.org) in Marblehead, a501(c)3 organization dedicated to bringing hope to those going through tough times, today announced the delivery of 50 Trouble The Dog plush dogs (troublethedog.net) to Shriners Hospitals for Children - Springfield. (shrinershospitalsforchildren.org). The donation was made possible through the Aleppo Fire Brigade and Prime Motor Group, sponsors of the Trouble The Dog Motorcycle Toy Ride.

"We are thrilled that a second donation of 50 plush Trouble dogs were delivered for children that come to us for needed medical treatment," said Samantha West, Child Life Specialist, Springfield Shriners Hospital. "I've been using the Trouble plush dogs therapeutically for patients as they go into the operating rooms. I save Trouble for children who need a special way to express their feelings. One little girl was frightened to have her cast removed, so I told her Trouble's story and gave her Trouble to hug. She whispered her concerns into his ear and he comforted her when she needed it most."

"Shriners Hospitals for Children do such amazing work every day. We are happy that we were able to coordinate a second donation which is put to such wonderful use for the children receiving treatment here," said Sheila Duncan, Founder, The Kennek Foundation. "We are grateful for the support of the Aleppo Fire Brigade and Prime Motor Group and to all who participated the Motorcycle Toy Ride which made this donation possible."
