Weird Guy on a Bench; Illegal Rude Parking: Marblehead Police

Friday, Feb. 26
At 8:24 a.m., a man walked in to express his concerns about parents and children not using the crosswalk on Maple Street. He said he saw a mother and child almost hit by an 18-wheeler because they were not using the crosswalk and requested additional patrols of the area.
At 8:49 a.m., there was a report of a man in a vest with a leather coat over it who had been on a bench on Front Street for the past 20 minutes and was acting weird and had just urinated in public. According to police, the man said he was collecting rocks for an aquarium and was advised not to do so.

At 9:42 a.m., the tree warden reported that a number of trees in town were being hacked up.
At 1:47 p.m., there was a motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Humphrey Street.

Saturday, Feb. 27
At 3:42 a.m., a caller reported that a drunk man was trying to fight his friend on Jersey Street. The drunk man was gone when police arrived.
At 5:05 p.m., a caller said there were cars parking illegally in front of the nursing home on Lafayette Street. He said he approached the driver of one of the cars and she swore at home. He said the nursing home wants nothing to do with the situation.
At 11:53 p.m., a caller said she was brushing her teeth when she heard what sounded like five or six gunshots on Pleasant Street. It was determined that the noise was likely fireworks.
