Marlborough Fire Department Honors 9 Firefighters With Anniversaries

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Nine Marlborough firefighters are marking appointment anniversaries this August, including one member who has served the city for 25 years.

Firefighter Laura Coache is celebrating 25 years with the Marlborough Fire Department. Firefighters James Cacciapaglia, Jacob Thompson, Roland Saucier, Andrew Anderson, Josiah David, Jesus Morillo, Gus Franchi and Robert Fadgen are each marking four years with the department.

Together, the nine firefighters have completed 57 years of service. The department thanked the firefighters for their service and dedication to Marlborough and the MFD.

The anniversary recognition follows several recent personnel changes within the department.

Six members were recognized during a July 23 promotional ceremony, including Assistant Fire Chief Michael Peckham, Battalion Chief Jonathan Ayotte, Capt. Michael Cisek, Lt. Richard Duong, Lt. Matthew Vickery and Provisional Lt. Colin Richardson.

The promotions followed the retirements of two longtime firefighters. Lt. Jeffrey Kasaras retired July 10 after more than 25 years with the department, including more than 20 years as a lieutenant. Firefighter Shawn Butland retired July 20 after more than 25 years of service.
