MARLBOROUGH, MA — One of the area's biggest annual clothing drives kicks off this week, and will culminate with an opportunity in November for people in need to shop for winter items like coats, gloves, and socks.

The MetroWest Clothing Initiative got its start several years ago when resident Amanda Cataldo was driving through downtown Framingham and noticed adults who needed winter clothing. She organized a clothing drive in 2018, providing clothing and other items for 209 people.

The goal this year is to help at least 500 people who need winter clothes.
