Community Rallies For Fire Survivor
After a local hairdresser lost her home to a fire in December and suffered serious injuries, the community came together to support her.
MARLBOROUGH, MA- Joan Russo suffered severe injuries that have forced her to recover in a rehab facility and lost her home to a fire the week before Christmas. Her neighbors and close friends have decided to take action and help raise money for her recovery, according to Marlborough's Community Advocate.
Two of Russo's close friends and coworkers, Cindy Kinney and Paula Stoddard, set up an account for her at Avidia Bank in Marlborough for people to donate to. According to the Community Advocate, Russo has already undergone surgery for skin grafting and was recently moved to a rehab facility.
