Drive-By Shooting Suspect Nabbed By K9 Dax In Manhunt
A Marlborough man is facing charges after police capture him in Hopkinton in connection with a drive-by shooting in Framingham.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Marlborough man is facing charges in connection with a drive-by shooting that happened over the weekend in Framingham.
On Sunday, March 26, around 5 p.m., Framingham and Ashland Police tried to stop a car that was connected to a shooting that had just happened. The driver wouldn't pull over and headed into Hopkinton along Route 135, crashing in the area of East Main Street and Clinton Street. The operator then fled on foot and led police on a chase to the Legacy Farms South area of Hopkinton.
Officers from Ashland, Hopkinton, Framingham, Southborough, Upton, Holliston and Massachusetts State Police also responded to the scene, and they created a perimeter while searching the area along with Ashland Police K9 Dax, who ultimately found the suspect hiding in a newly-built home on Sweetwater Way.

Igor Campos, 24, Hosmer Street, Marlborough, was taken into custody by the Hopkinton Police Department on charges of Breaking and Entering, Malicious Destruction of Property and Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash with Property Damage after a brief struggle with the K9.
The suspect was transported to Framingham Metrowest Hospital for evaluation. No officers or citizens were harmed during the chase or subsequent search for the suspect. Hopkinton Police Chief Ed Lee stated from the scene that

"This arrest serves as another example of the value of multijurisdictional response to emergency situations," Hopkinton Police Chief Ed Lee said in a statement. "The rapid mobilization we saw tonight resulted in the capture of a potentially violent suspect.”
