Hunter Who Accidentally Shot Marlborough Man Settles Suit With Family
Breaking: Wade Holmes mistook the man for a deer, and shot him to death.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A man who was sentenced for mistakenly shooting a Marlborough man in the woods will settle a wrongful death suit with the family.
New Hampshire hunter Wade Holmes is serving a two- to four-year sentence for negligent homicide for shooting to death Kenneth Brunelle, 31, from Marlborough, in 2011, reports the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. Holmes said he mistook Brunelle for a deer.
Once a Massachusetts court determines if Brunelle's son can inherit from his father's estate, settlement documents will be filed between Holmes and Brunelle's partner, reports The Caledonian Record.
