Marlborough Mayor’s Charity Ball Will Have St. Patrick's Theme

The biennial Mayor's Charity Ball happens in two weeks. The event raises money for the city's emergency fund for citizens.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Plans for the biennial Marlborough Mayor's Charity Ball are taking shape. The event, which raises money to assist local residents in times of need, will have a St. Patrick's Day theme in 2020.

According to Mayor Arthur Vigeant, the ball will feature Marlborough High School Students performing Irish dance and music. The Marlborough Shamrocks Football Club will be on hand for a 50-50 raffle.

In addition to food, drinks, and entertainment, Vigeant will be handing out the Humanitarian Award, and nominations are still being accepted.

The biennial Mayor's Charity Ball was started in 1960 by former mayor Kusson Haddad to raise money for a community fund used to help people who need emergency assistance. The event will be held on March 14 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel, 181 Boston Post Road West.
