Marlborough Police Department Proudly Receives Accreditation

MARLBOROUGH, MA - From Marlborough Police Department: On February 7th, Chief David Giorgi, Lt. Robert Jusseaume and Lt. Michael Amoros attended an award ceremony for the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission. Under retired Chief Mark Leonard the department began the intensive process of seeking Accreditation, a “process which consists of two major components: 1) The establishment of a body of professional standards and policies; and 2) a voluntary assessment process by which agencies can be publicly recognized for meeting those standards considered best practices for the profession.”

In April 2017 the department was awarded Certification, the first step in the two step process during which 159 professional standards must be met by the department. In November 2017, the department successfully completed a second assessment during which an additional 98 professional standards were satisfied, as well as 85 optional standards.

Chief Giorgi wants to recognize the diligent efforts of Lt. Jusseaume and Lt. Amoros as well as the other members of the Accreditation team and the entire department who participated in the process. Being awarded Accreditation is a prestigious achievement and an accomplishment for which all members of the Marlborough Police Department can be proud.
