Proposed New Police Chief Appointment Referred To Committee
City Council referred the responsibility of appointing the new Marlborough police chief to the personnel committee.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Lt. David Giorgi was appointed temporary police chief when Chief Mark Leonard retired earlier this month. To finalize the decision to officially go with Giorgi, Marlborough City Council referred the appointment process to the Personnel Committee, reports the MetroWest Daily News.
The committee, which consists of three city councilors, will discuss Giorgi's qualifications and then submit a recommendation to the City Council, possibly by next week. The council will then vote on the appointment. Giorgi was one of seven in-house candidates who applied for the position.
