The Triboro Titans Squirt 2 Season Ends With Dramatic Win

This week’s Whiz Kids:  The Triboro Titans Squirt 2 Team, including players from Westborough, Marlborough and Southborough. This year's team roster includes:

• James (Massey) Kerravala, 10, Marlborough
• Gerry McCarthy, 10, Marlborough
• Tino Pizzarella, 9, Marlborough
• Billy McGrath, 10, Marlborough

• Eric Abeles, 10, Westborough
• Ryan Gallary, 10, Westborough
• Ryan Mackintire, 9, Westborough
• Cam Pelkey, 9, Westborough
• Will Schiffman, 10, Westborough
• Henry Alford, 9, Southborough
• Cam Needels, 10, Southborough

And a shout out to substitute Brendan Doherty who helped the boys bring home a championship win.

Accomplishments: The team played in a C-level tournament this past week at St. Sebastian’s School in Needham. They played three games, winning two and losing one, and advanced to the championship game on Sunday.

The big game was against Natick, the team they had lost to in the tournament. After three periods, the teams had tied at 1-1 and the game went into overtime. The boys were playing 4-on-4 when a penalty was called on the Triboro team. A penalty against the Natick team evened the ice at 3-on-3. It was then that a Triboro player scored the winning goal, giving the team a 2-1 win. It was an exciting way to end the season.
