Kevin Spacey Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Teen On Nantucket

Kevin Spacey on Wednesday was accused of sexually assaulting the 18-year-old son of a former news anchor on Nantucket in July 2016.

NANTUCKET, MA — Kevin Spacey Wednesday was accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old on Nantucket in July 2016. The alleged victim is the son of former Boston-area television news anchor Heather Unruh. At a news conference Wednesday morning, Unruh claimed the actor got her son drunk and then stuck his hand down his pants. Nantucket police are investigating the alleged incident.

"Shame on you for what you did to my son," Unruh said through tears. "Your actions are criminal."

She said her son was a "starstruck, straight 18-year-old young man who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator or that he was about to become his next victim."

Unruh claimed Spacey plied her son with alcohol at the Club Car restaurant on Nantucket after the teen told the actor he was of legal age to drink.

"He didn't look like he was 21 ... Spacey bought him drink after drink after drink," Unruh said. "After my son was drunk, Spacey made his move and sexually assaulted him. This was a criminal act ... there was no consent."

Unruh said her son met the actor at the restaurant in a "crowded, dimly lit" section. After buying her son drinks, she said, "Spacey stuck his hand inside my son's pants and grabbed his genitals."

She continued, "My son's efforts to shift his body to remove Spacey's hand were only momentarily successful. The violation continued. My son panicked. He froze. He was intoxicated and Kevin Spacey was insistent that he come with him to a private, after-hours party to drink even more."

At that point, Unruh said , Spacey left to use the bathroom. A woman who saw the alleged exchange approached the teen and asked if he was OK, according to Unruh.

"Obviously she had seen something and knew he was not," Unruh said. "She told him to run and he did."

Unruh said her family has been unable to identify the woman, but she expressed thanks for her actions.

"I want to see Kevin Spacey go to jail," Unruh said.

Unruh's son is being represented by lawyer Mitchell Garabedian, who has represented victims of sexual abuse by Boston-area Catholic Church priests. Garabedian was featured in the 2016 film "Spotlight."

Last month, actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of sexually assaulting him when he was 14. Spacey apologized in a statement on Twitter.

"I honestly do not remember the encounter," Spacey said. "If I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior."

Spacey also said he is a "gay man."

Since then, multiple individuals have come forward with similar accusations. Amid the whirlwind of accusations, Netflix suspended Spacey's popular "House of Cards" series. Spacey has not commented on the allegations beyond his Twitter statement.

Over the weekend, a London bartender accused Spacey of groping him in 2007.
