Martha's Vineyard Man Faces Gun Charges: MSP
The 30-year-old was a passenger in a car that was stopped for not having an inspection sticker.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA – A Martha's Vineyard man was arrested Monday and charged with weapons offenses following a traffic stop in Edgartown. Police pulled over a 2012 Mazda sedan around 2 p.m. Monday for driving without an inspection sticker, according to state police.
The driver, a 25-year-old Oak Bluffs woman, spoke to police while the passenger, 30-year-old Edgartown resident William Filene, opened the glove box to get the registration. A trooper saw a clear plastic box with ammunition inside the compartment, and neither person had a license to carry a firearm or a firearm identification card, state police said.
Filene and the driver initially told police there was no gun in the car, but troopers ultimately found a Ruger LCP Auto handgun with a .380-caliber round in the chamber and a magazine holding six more rounds, police said. The box in the glove compartment had six .40-caliber rounds, according to police.
