Dog Painted Purple in Martha's Vineyard Home Break-In: Police
Felix Reagan went on a rampage in Oak Bluffs — breaking into two homes, painting a family dog purple, and stealing a car, police say.
OAK BLUFFS, MA — An Oak Bluffs man on Saturday went on a rampage, breaking into two homes, painting a dog purple, stealing a car, and assaulting a police officer, authorities said. Felix Reagan was arrested after he crashed the stolen car and charged with a host of crimes, according to police.
Reagan crashed at about 2:30 p.m. on Firehouse Lane. He was driving a car he stole from an Upper Douglas Lane residence; he also broke into a Pinewood Lane home and painted the family's dog purple, according to police. Police said they quickly identified Reagan as the suspect and launched a search.
After crashing, Reagan approached a Webaqua Road home and looked in the windows, leading the homeowner to call police. A State Police trooper found Reagan in the area and arrested him; he was found to be in possession of prescription drugs and stolen credit cards.

"Reagan also had purple paint on his pants which was consistent with the paint that was found on the dog from the Pinewood Lane break-in," police said in a statement.
As he was transported to the police station, he kicked an Oak Bluffs police officer twice and tried to kick out the cruiser windows, authorities said. He was additionally charged with assaulting a police officer.

Police said this isn't the first time Reagan has pulled these alleged stunts. In June, he was arrested after breaking into a woman's Lagoon Road home.
The dog that Reagan allegedly painted is expected to be OK.
