Announcement: the Medfield Community Electricity (MCE) Program is Live
The Medfield Community Electricity (MCE) program went into effect after the Eversource June 2024 meter readings were taken and bills issued. On or about July 26th, the July meter readings were taken and bills issued for the first of 30 months under the MCE program contract with Direct Energy as our electricity supplier.
Those residents and businesses under the Eversource Basic Service supply option in April 2024, who took one of the following actions with the registration postcards mailed to each resident and business at that time or who submitted a registration form from the MCE website (electricity.medfield.net) should see the following in their July bills:
- took no action – enrollment in the MCE ‘Medfield Standard’ rate Plan (.13963 $/kWh)
- took the action to ‘opt-up’ – enrollment in the MCE ‘Medfield 100’ rate Plan (.14108 $/kWh)
- took the action to ‘opt-down’ – enrollment in the MCE ‘Medfield Basic’ rate Plan (.12650 $/kWh).
- took the action to ‘opt-out’ – no enrollment, thereby retaining Eversource as the supplier under its Basic Service rate Plan; this rate, under Eversource’s upcoming 6 month contract, will be .15772 $/kWh.
To identify a Supplier and rate Plan in effect for a residence or business, view the Eversource bill issued at the end of July, 2024. Within the red oval that states “Your electric supplier is”, the supplier should read “MEDFIELD COMM ELEC– DIRECT” in place of “Eversource” which appeared on prior bills.
