April is DONATE LIFE month...are you a registered organ donor?
Sandeman along with Town Administer Kristine Trierweiler, posed together with the DONATE LIFE flag on April 1st.

April is DONATE LIFE month!
The month of April has been designated as National Donate Life Month in hopes of educating the public about how to register as an organ donor and the positive impact you can make by doing so. It is also about dispelling the myths surrounding registering as an organ donor.
Medfield resident, Liz Sandeman, recently named Massachusetts Chairperson of the Lions Organ Donation Awareness Committee is a passionate and dedicated DONATE LIFE volunteer, and she tirelessly spreads the word of the importance of being a Registered Organ Donor.
Ultimately, her goal would be to have everyone register as an Organ Donor.

Sandeman has brought Organ Donation awareness to many parts of the world. Last year Sandeman and her daughter climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and posed with the DONATE LIFE flag covered in names of donors that supported this cause.

The reason for her passion for encouraging people to become an organ donor is very personal. Sandeman's sister, T, died in 2014 waiting for a lung transplant. T had been on the waiting list for 2 years, passing away at age 54 years old.
"T is the reason why I volunteer. I don't want another family to lose a loved one simply because there are not enough registered donors. Would you take an organ transplant to save your own life? Would you hope there was an organ available if your loved one needed a transplant to live?
If you answer yes, then I would ask you to consider registering as an organ donor" said Sandeman.
