Delegates Elected and Democrat Candidates attend the Medfield Democratic Town Committee Caucus!

Registered Democrats in Medfield held a caucus on Saturday, March 7, 2020 and elected Delegates and Alternates to the 2020 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. Medfield could elect six (6) Delegates and four (4) Alternates to the Convention.

Delegates elected:

Male: Robert Canavan, Michael Filosa, Steve Teehan.
Female: Eileen DeSorgher, Siobhan Donovan and Becca Kornet.

Alternates elected:

Male alternates: Colin Canavan and Cameron Mahler.

Female alternates: Trish Haskins and Chris McCue Potts.

These Delegates/Alternates are committed to Joe Kennedy for US Senate. They were nominated and elected as Kennedy delegates to attend the State Convention.

Prior to the caucus voting, many candidates running for multiple offices for the Massachusetts' 4th Congressional District Election (September 1, 2020 Democratic Primary) and their supporters were in attendance and gathered nomination signatures to be on the primary ballot.

Incumbent, Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) is being challenged this year by Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D, MA-4) in the upcoming September 1, 2020 primary. Joe Kennedy's wife, Lauren and their children were among those that attended and greeted folks prior to the caucus voting. A campaign worker from Markey's office was also at the Medfield caucus collecting nomination signatures.

After the caucus was closed, many of the candidates gave a brief statement/overview of why they are running for office.

This year's State Convention will be held on May 30, 2020, at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, where thousands of Democrats from across the state will come together to discuss Party business and prepare for upcoming elections.
