Deadline Extended to Support the Straw Hat Park
The Straw Hat Park Committee has extended the deadline to Oct. 15 to buy a brick or make a donation to support the park.
The Straw Hat Park Committee has extended the deadline until October 15 to buy a brick or make a donation to support the park. Residents, businesses and organizations can leave a lasting legacy by inscribing a brick for $150. All of the table and seat sponsorships have been sold.
“Over 135 families have made contributions to the park already,” said Jean Mineo, Chair of the Straw Hat Park Committee. “We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve raised enough so far to be able to complete the construction in one phase and thank everyone for their support. We continue to raise funds for the fountain, planters, and signage that will make this a special destination the community can be proud of.”
The Straw Hat Park received $32,000 at Town Meeting in April and has raised an additional $52,000 to date. The initial construction will be completed by the DPW when their schedule allows.

The Straw Hat Park is a Medfield Foundation initiative. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Inscriptions should be completed online at www.BricksRUs.com/Order/StrawHatPark. Checks should be made payable to the Medfield Foundation and mailed to Minta Hissong at 30 Vine Brook Road in Medfield, 02052.
