Eighteenth Week - Thursday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"In 1966, following up on the Master Plan Implementation Committee’s recommendations, the following were put into effect:
Main Street (Route 109) was reconstructed from the Center of town to Spring Street, the new Junior High School building was completed and opened, additional land was added for conservation purposes, including 110 acres donated to the Trustees of Reservation by the Jewell Estate, Bakers (Meetinghouse) Pond was cleaned and the area to its south filled in and graded to make a green area which greatly improved its appearance and usefulness, new basketball/tennis courts were constructed at the Junior High School site(now Medfield High School), thus increasing recreational facilities, the new sewer treatment plant was put into operation, the new building code was approved, and the street numbering project, which includes all existing and proposed streets in town, was completed."
