Eighteenth Week - Tuesday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"In 1949 the Summer Story Hour Program at the Memorial Public Library was very successful. The library was filled to capacity. On one day over 50 children came to hear recordings from “The Music Box” which was rented from the Division of Public Libraries and to listen to fairy tales. Mrs. Ann Young, assisted by Jean Gilbert helped with the story telling. Selectman Joseph Marcionette made all the children happy by giving them lollypops on one of the best attended days. The morning program for children in the first and second grades was held during the month of July from eleven o’clock until twelve noon. The library building was surprisingly cool and comfortable on some of the warmest days of summer and the children seemed interested."
