A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1954 opening day of fishing season was on March 17. Chickering Pond at Rocky Woods was stocked with large trout from the Sportsman’s Show in Boston. Fishing hours at Rocky Woods were from one half hour before sunrise to one half hour after sunset. Fishing at Rocky Woods was only open to members of the Rocky Woods Club. Membership for a fee was open to all in town. Only fly fishing from boats was permitted. The warden at Rocky Woods was Arnold Ripley."
