Fourteenth Week - Sunday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"In 1899 Medfield By-Law Section 25 stated that “All children between the ages seven and fifteen years residing in the town who may be found wandering about in the streets or public places and not attending school and growing up in ignorance, shall, upon conviction thereof, be committed to the Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth Truant School in Walpole. It shall be the duty of the School Committee, the teachers and the citizens in general, to aid the Truant Officers in their discharge of their duties. Two or more Truant Officers shall be appointed annually.”
