Fourteenth Week - Wednesday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"In 1958 there was a state-wide search for two bank robbers. One was caught by Boston police but the other escaped. Medfield police officers George Kingsbury and Nina Iafolla, investigating a stolen bicycle near the Charles River, saw a man dressed as a priest and two teenage boys camping out. When questioned, Kingsbury and Iafolla noticed the man was carrying a gun. When asked about the gun, the man lunged at Officer Kingsbury. A fight broke out but Kingsbury and Iafolla were able to subdue the man, who turned out to be Robert Savage, the at large bank robber. Savage had disguised himself as a priest and the two teenagers, who had escaped from a detention center, had joined up with him. All were arrested and brought to the police station."
