Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Meet and Greet!

The Medfield Council on Aging (COA) and Medfield Youth Outreach (MYO) are co-hosting a grandparents raising grandchildren meet-and-greet on Tuesday, April 30th at 10:30am at the Medfield Public Library (lower level meeting room).

There is a growing trend of grandparents adopting the role of caregivers for their grandchildren, a phenomenon that affects many families in this community and surrounding towns. There can be joy found in assuming a care-giving role for a young loved one, but the experience may also be unexpected and even isolating for many grandparents who may feel like they are the only ones in this situation. In order to connect those going through similar life paths, the Council on Aging and Medfield Youth Outreach are building a support network where community members can share stories and resources and support one another.

Grandchildren are welcome, and there will be staff on hand to care for them in the library’s children’s room in the upper level.
