Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Public Safety Building

Town officials take part in Groundbreaking Ceremony.

Police Chief Bob Meaney, Fire Chief Bill Kingsbury, members of the Board of Selectmen, members of the Permanent Building Committee, former Police Chief Richard Hurley, members of the Warrant Committee, Town Administrator Mike Sullivan, Assistant Town Administrator Kristine Trierweiler, current police and firefighters, School Superintendent Jeff Marsden, town employees and town residents took part recently in the ground breaking for the new Public Safety Building.

The current Police and Fire Station has moved to to 93 West Street and the Fire Department apparatus is now located in the new DPW Garage off RT. 27 (North Meadows Road) Phone numbers are the same.

The new Public Safety Building is expected to be completed in 18 months. Demolition of the current stations on North Street will begin shortly. The current parking lot for the Dale Street School teachers will be relocated to make way for the construction. A new teacher parking lot is currently being built between the Dale Street School and the Pfaff Center.
