Honoring Veterans Day at Blake Middle School

Blake Middle School sixth grade students had the opportunity to spend time with local veterans on Thurs., Nov 7th.

Medfield's Blake Middle School Sixth Graders Host Local Veterans

Superintendent Jeffrey Marsden and Blake Middle School Principal Nathaniel Vaughn are pleased to share that sixth grade students had the opportunity to spend time with local veterans on Thursday, Nov. 7.

To honor Veterans Day, Blake Middle School hosted veterans from Medfield to talk with sixth grade students. The veterans visited the sixth grade classrooms to share stories from their time in service and answer questions.The veterans then joined sixth grade teachers and student.

The veterans then joined sixth grade teachers and student representatives from each class for a luncheon in the library.

Principal Vaughn also shared the history of Veterans Day on the morning announcements and encouraged students to show their thanks and appreciation if they saw the veterans around school.

"We're happy to be able to do this each year," Principal Vaughn said. "It's important for our students to learn about the meaning of Veterans Day and the sacrifices of the men and women the day is meant to recognize. It's an honor for us to host our local service members and we thank them for giving their time to talk with our students.

This is Medfield's eighth year hosting local veterans for Veterans Day.
