The Ins and Outs of the Mass Save Program
Medfield Environment Action (MEA) and the Medfield Energy Committee (MEC) are hosting an informational presentation on the Mass Save Program, Wednesday, November 30th at 7:30 pm. This is another step in MEA and MEC’s ongoing educational efforts for residents on ways to help reach Medfield’s Net Zero by 2050 Goal.
There are brand new incentives available to Massachusetts residents (some up to $10,000) and details will be presented on how to take advantage of the incentives and rebates. Attendees will learn what a No Cost Home Energy Assessment of their house, condominium or apartment (working with your landlord) entails.
Brian Kearney from RISE Engineering will go over the details on how to save money and energy through the Mass Save Program. Discussion and questions will be encouraged. Having an energy audit completed is the first step to a more energy efficient home and reducing your carbon footprint. Sustainable Medfield encourages all residents to act by getting a home energy assessment and has named it “Action of the Quarter”. Once the audit is completed, residents can follow through with the recommended actions such as adding additional insulation of which 75-100% of the cost is covered by Mass Save or air sealing of which 100% is covered. Other recommendations may include high-efficiency heating, cooling, and water heater equipment with Mass Save discounts, heat loans and tax credits. To take advantage of these cost-saving and energy saving offers, you need to have a No Cost Home Energy Assessment done first.
