Letter to the Medfield Community

Dear Medfield Voters,

My name is Sarah Westhoven, and I am writing today to ask for your vote for Medfield Public Library Trustee in the Annual Town Election on Monday, March 31st.

My husband, Matt, and I moved to Medfield over a decade ago and have found a community we love in which to raise our two kids, Molly (3rd grade) and Zach (1st grade). Over the years, I’ve been an active volunteer in town, serving as a committee chair for New 'n Towne, a youth soccer coach and a Girl Scout troop leader.

The Library serves as such an important part of this community and the services and programming for kids, teens, and adults alike, creates a central place for connection and learning. It has certainly served as a welcoming place for my family for the last decade and I want to help ensure it continues to thrive.

To meet the goals outlined in the 2025 Strategic Plan, the Library needs strong and dedicated leadership and I am eager to lend my unique skills and energy to support its mission and vision.

In my professional life, I hold an MBA and serve as a Director of Marketing and Communications at a software company, giving me the skills and experience to help the library promote the many services it provides, build connections with other groups within and outside Medfield, and ensure we are pursuing all available sources of financial support. It likely goes without saying that I am a huge reader and a believer in the power of books to expand the imagination, build empathy & connection, and foster a love of learning.

The fact that we have four candidates running for two Trustee spots is amazing and testament to the importance of the Library to this town. If elected, I'll bring my skills, collaborative spirit, and strong work ethic to the Trustee role, working respectfully with diverse voices to ensure our library welcomes and serves everyone in our community.
