Lord's T-shirt Reprinting Would Benefit Scholarship Fund
Store fans are encouraged to express t-shirt and other souvenir interest via a survey.

It seems like yesterday when the Main Street store with the bright red neon sign was the heart of Medfield.
The moment word got out that Lord's would be closing on February 28, 2013, store owners Nancy Kelly-Lavin and Tom Kelly became inundated with emotional requests for t-shirts and other store souvenirs.
There was only one problem: other than plastic shopping bags, souvenirs bearing the Lord's name were never created. "It just wasn't something that was a priority for a family that was focused on serving its customers," a long-time store clerk shared at the time.

Seeing that Lord's souvenirs could actually cheer up customers saddened by the store closing, Kelly-Lavin quickly rolled out a t-shirt design and started taking pre-orders. By the time Lord's officially closed its doors, 1,000 t-shirts and other souvenirs had been sold raising $10,000 for a newly created Lord's/William J. Kelly Scholarship fund in honor of the family patriarch and long-time store owner.
Based on preliminary results of a survey launched today, interest in Lord's souvenirs is still strong more than seven years later, and Kelly-Lavin couldn't be happier about the prospect of re-ordering another supply of shirts.

"We always hired students to work in the store -- it was something that was important to my Dad because that was how he started out at Lord's," said Kelly-Lavin. "It would be great to raise more scholarship funds in his name for students who balance part-time jobs with attending Medfield High School." She admits seeing Lord's t-shirts worn around town makes her smile too.
For anyone interested in purchasing Lord's t-shirts or other souvenirs, just click here to take the quick survey. At this stage, the survey is only to gauge interest and determine possible quantities needed. Official ordering information will follow once pricing for new items is determined.
The Lord's/William J. Kelly Scholarship was established through the Medfield High School Alumni Association. A total of $8,000 has been awarded to date to MHS seniors.
