Styrofoam Collection (9am -1pm) - RESIDENTIAL STYROFOAM ONLY
Foam packing blocks. Clean foam coolers and foam shipping containers only. Please remove any cardboard, labels or stickers. Clean, white (only!). No food items (take-out containers, coffee cups, meat/produce trays). No peanuts or bubble wrap. More info BELOW.

- Mattresses and Box Springs - place in container to right of tip-floor.
- Medications/Drug/Sharps – Public Safety Building has ongoing collection.
- Household Hazardous Waste - Contact DPW for year-round options
- Food Waste Drop-off – bring food waste, bones, meats, dairy for composting to the TS. Deposit in bin to the right of the tip floor windows. Compostable bags and food only.
- Textiles & Books – deposit clean, dry textiles and small household items (only small items! No large furniture!) in the Epilepsy Foundation trailer or donation bins.
- Residential Transfer Station Permit Required for access to Transfer Station.
- Permits can be purchased online, by mail and at Town Hall, $100 for 2 years.
** Keep your recycling clean – no plastic bags in recycling**

Electronics – Collection of TVs (CRT, LCD and Plasma), monitors, computers, laptops, printers/scanners/faxes, printer cartridges, entertainment systems, all cables & wires, projectors, all telephones, CDs, discs, servers, Printed Circuit Boards, rechargeable batteries, all consumer electronics. Swap Area... Collection of household items - provides residents an opportunity to find a new life for their items. It is open Wed, Fri and Sat. from 9 – 3 (drop offs only through 2:30) through September. The Swap accepts clean, working (or easily repairable) household items that can be used by someone else. Categories of acceptable items are: Toys/Games/Educational materials; Bicycles/Exercise Equipment/Sporting Goods; Household items; Household Electric Items; Decorative Items; Baby Items; Tools/Hardware; Building Materials (limited quantity); Garden/Yard Items; Office Furniture/Supplies; Furniture; Entertainment Items; Books and Magazines. The Swap area does NOT accept any materials that are not accepted as solid waste at the Transfer Station (e.g., TVs, CRTs, automobile parts, tires, oil, concrete, and gypsum). Parking/Shopping at Swap limited to 30 minutes (total) per day.
Food Composting/Organics – Discounted kits consisting of 3.5 gallon pail and a kitchen scrap bucket (and compostable bags while supplies last) will be available for sale at the TS May 11th. Thank you to The Garden Continuum for being a sponsor of the Transfer Station kit program which allows for the discounted price. You may also purchase composting equipment at Wills Hardware and other retailers at other times. Earth Machine Backyard Composters can be purchased for $25 plus tax ($26.57) on May 11th. Cash or check, payable to "The Town of Medfield."
Dignity Matters – Donate feminine hygiene products (sanitary napkins/tampons – all sizes/types), new underwear and new or gently used bras to Dignity Matters (DM). DM is a non-profit that provides these expensive basics to women and girls who are homeless or living in very low income situations to help them stay healthy and live with basic dignity. Dignity Matters currently supports 2,100 women and girls each month through shelters, schools, food pantries and medical clinics in Boston, Metrowest and Merrimack Valley. Dignity-Matters.org.
Reusable Building Materials for resale – high quality – no construction or demolition debris – Please see website for complete list and quantity minimums (http://www.bostonbuildingresources.com/donate-building-materials/). Partial list of materials we accept: cabinets, countertops, some sinks, appliances (less than 7yrs old), vanities, ceramic tile, vinyl and wood replacement windows, doors and hardware (interior, exterior, storm – no lead paint), lumber, drywall, plywood, exterior shutters, carpeting, sheet vinyl, wood flooring, latex paint. Will NOT accept: Food-touched Styrofoam, colored foam products, foam cups, biodegradable foams, produce and meat-trays, polyurethane foam (PU), egg cartons, soft foam pads, pipe insulation.

Postal Center (14 Milliston Rd B, Millis, 508-376-1200). AFTER MAY 18, NEXT STYROFOAM COLLECTION IS PLANNED FOR OCTOBER 2019. WATCH FOR DETAILS as market conditions are very fluid at this time.
Clothing & Textile Donations – The Epilepsy Foundation of New England will collect all clean/dry textiles in any condition. This includes clothing, linens, shoes, purses, throw-rugs, blankets, stuffed animals and towels. Use the trailer and bins at the transfer station to donate clean/dry textiles and books. For a list of unacceptable items visit http://donateclothes.epilepsynewengland.org/. Textiles in any condition are accepted because even rags can be repurposed as carpet padding.
Medications/Drugs – The Medfield Police offers free disposal of drugs and sharps. Drugs are being detected in groundwater -- please do not flush them. Accepted drugs include: prescription and over the counter medication, pills, capsules, patches, prescription ointments, prescription liquids in unbreakable, leak-proof containers and vitamins. www.norfolkda.com. Sharps can be deposited in a separate collection container also in the lobby of the Public Safety Building.
Book Donations - Donate books and media in good condition in the book bins or trailer at the transfer station. Or you can help the Friends of the Medfield Library raise funds for the Medfield Public Library. Books and media are accepted whenever the Medfield Library is open. Books are sold in the Friends Bookstore on the main floor of the library. Everything in the store is half price on the last Saturday of the month.
Tool Library - The Medfield Public Library has many useful items available for circulation. These include garden tools, musical instruments, metal detectors, laser levels, soil testers, a sewing machine and many more occasionally needed items! Check out the collection at the library.
