Medfield DTC Honors Feeney, State Committee Members

Recent Democratic Town Committee gathering was a show of appreciation for their years of service leading up to redistricting.

Medfield Democratic Town Committee members and friends, including State Representative Denise Garlick, recently gathered to thank State Senator Paul Feeney and Democratic State Committee members Claire Naughton, Dennis Naughton, Jackie Curtis and Joe Kaplan for their years of service to Medfield.

With the latest Census results causing district lines to change, Feeney and the four State Committee members will no longer represent Medfield. The district for Rep. Denise Garlick remains unchanged.

Feeney, a Foxboro resident, has represented Medfield since 2017. As State Committee members, Claire Naughton has served the district since 2002; Dennis Naughton and Joe Kaplan have served since 2008; and Jackie Curtis has served since 2016. The Naughtons are Foxboro residents, while Curtis and Kaplan reside in Mansfield.

During the recent gathering, Medfield DTC Chair Steve Teehan read proclamations thanking Sen. Feeney and each of the State Committee members for their service to Medfield. They were also presented with "Entering Medfield" wine glasses as a token of thanks for their dedication to Medfield and DTC.

The Feeney proclamation noted, "We are indebted to Senator Feeney for his unwavering commitment to his constituents in Medfield. We wish him all the best in his new senate district."

The State Committee members were also thanked for their "tireless and dedicated service to Medfield DTC" with well wishes extended for their new districts.

Rep. Garlick took the opportunity to recognize Feeney with heartfelt words about his collaborative spirit, work ethic, loyalty and strong values, and noted that what she appreciates most of all is that "He's a good man" with unwavering integrity.

Upon January 2023 inaugurations, in Massachusetts State Senate, Sen. Becca Rausch-D (Needham) will represent Medfield. In the House of Representatives, Rep. Garlick-D (Needham) will continue to represent Medfield precincts 1 & 2 as previously noted, while newly elected Rep. Marcus Vaughn-R (Wrentham) will represent Medfield precincts 3 & 4.

For the first time in recent memory, a majority of citizens in all four Medfield precincts voted for Democrats all the way down the Nov. 8, 2022 ballot (click here for town election results).
