Medfield Makes Masks Community thanks all who helped!

Thank you, Volunteers and Donors,

The Medfield Makes Masks: Community Combining for Cause group is much more than a facebook group it is a collection of caring individuals from our community who gave of themselves when a great need existed.

This group originated in March when the need for face masks in the medical community was high and quantity was scarce. The number of people who jumped on board to sew, donate supplies, and volunteer in many ways was overwhelming.

Because of their help and generosity over 5,000 finished masks and scrub caps (and other items) were given to medical professionals, nursing homes workers and residents, senior living facilities, public safety officials and individuals. All of this was achieved due to the outpouring of support from the community.

We also received generous financial donations and recently forwarded those funds to two of Medfield’s benevolent organizations, the Medfield Food Cupboard and the Mfi COVID-19 Public Need Fund.

Although the need for masks has now lessened, a group of volunteers are still sewing and fulfilling requests for masks and scrub caps… and we aren’t done yet!!
