Miss Amazing celebration returns to Medfield

The 3rd annual Massachusetts Miss Amazing celebration will be held on Saturday, February 27th, 2016 at Medfield High School.

Miss Amazing Inc. is a national, non-profit 501c (3) organization for girls and women with disabilities. The program was started in 2007 and is now held in 30 states across the country and has touched the lives of more than 650 participants.

Miss Amazing provides girls and women with disabilities a venue to share and celebrate their multi-faceted identities, valuable abilities and strengths in a supportive, fun environment. Miss Amazing Massachusetts is a one-day event featuring interviews, on-stage introductions, formal wear and an optional talent portion. Participants in the Miss Amazing celebration learn valuable life skills, helping them reach their own unique goals and dreams.

Miss Amazing is an experience that inspires all people to empower themselves and each other. By encouraging participants to dream big and reach their full potential, Miss Amazing celebrations prove that the world is a much better place when the talents and ambitions of all people are celebrated and valued. The organization aims to build the self-confidence of those with disabilities in a safe and supportive environment.

The age requirement for entering Miss Amazing as a participant is five and up. Boys and men are welcome to participate as volunteers. There is no entry fee for participants, just a suggested donation of five cans of food for the local food pantry. The Miss Amazing celebration is a day of bonding, learning, growing and having fun, for everyone involved.
